RAPunzel!

            RAPunzel!
WALT write a review.

Yesterday on the 12th of November, a group named Auckland Playhouse came to Christ the King to perform a show called Rap-punzel. It was acted out by three people Jake, Jane and Ben. The name of the play was “A land far far away’s got talent” they presented it as if it was an X factor idol show.

The funniest thing was when Prince Rupee tried to sing, but he couldn’t and embarrassed himself in front of the whole audience and Rapunzel. The whole school laughed so loudly I thought there was going to be an earthquake. The most disgusting part was when Rapunzel and Prince Rupee kissed, it was so disgusting the audience screamed out “eww” or “yuck”.

I recommend this show for all ages because everyone would find something humorous to enjoy.

Matariki

                      Matariki
It is night time and i’m at the beach with my neighbors. I can see the fire has been already lit. My neighbors are nearly at the fire, when John says “ Hurry up or the stars will disappear”. We’re at the beach to  celebrate Matariki.

The stars are glistening in the dark blue sky. As I look up, my friend Jessie calls us, so we can all be together to see the stars rise and turn into bright diamonds. The seven stars are gathered together, to be a shape like a kite or another kind of pattern.

Matariki is the Maori New Year when everyone celebrates Matariki or, the seven sisters which are a group of stars in the sky. Matariki is a time of plenty when the crops are gathered together.

GREEK GODS

Greek Gods!

Are you fascinated about how people use their powers? Do you like people with interesting moves? If you are one of those kinds of people, then it’s your lucky day, because you are coming with me into the past to see the Greek Gods and Goddesses.

But be careful, because if you are rude, there will be consequences for example, if you are rude to the king (Zeus) and his Queen (Hera) you will get really hurt and you will have to be his slave until you have suffered.

When you travel with me to the past, there will be a lot of Gods and Goddesses and we will learn about them  like how Hermes is so energetic, how Demeter is nice and beautiful and how Ares is so violent and temper was always making him fight in war.

Have you waited a long time to know who might be the strongest, the mighty and the popular God on mount olympus, well if you are wanting to know, its Hercules!. Hercules was the strongest God in mount olympus and he happened to be the last mortal son of zeus.

Greek Gods has been around for hundreds of years and their stories are still being told today, thanks to Television, Movies and Books.

Tarore and her book

    Tarore and her book

Tarore was a little girl who brought peace to Aotearoa and who wanted everyone to start loving instead of fighting.

There was a good student named Tarore (Tarore brought peace to the land) A missionary gave Tarore a book that had words of peace and a little kete to put   inside the book.

When Tarore turned 12 she was killed by warriors because the warriors thought there might be something shiney or something good to kill people with, but it wasn't, it was just a book of peace. Ngakuku overcome with sadness. Suddenly he remembered the word of peace so he did not seek revenge anymore.

In Rotorua, the person who had killed Tarore read the book with the message that said “love your enemies”. The warriors went to Ngakuku to ask for forgiveness.

The gospel of luke was spreading around north island. Other people gave up war and lived the christian way of peace. Tarores little book of peace came down to Otaki. The chief of the warriors Te Rauparaha heard the message of peace and built a church of Rangiatea.

Te Rauparaha’s son and nephew looked at the message in the book and took it to the south Island. The good news kept on spreading like the wind moving everyone round and round. Tangata whenua said that the missionaries brought peace and christionary to the county but it was the south Island who really gave it to each other. Everything happened because of Tarore’s little book that she wore close to her heart.

Beauty and the Beast

 Beauty and the Beast

On friday 9th of May, Christ the king and other schools went to Manukau Vodafone centre to see Sancta Maria college perform Beauty and the Beast. The main characters were Beauty (Olivia Brown) and the Beast (Roman Bennett). They did the walt disney production. It was a sad, romantic and cool story. The part I liked was when the evil guy came out to the stage with his scary, ugly looking. I felt sad when beauty’s father got captured by the beast. I was terrified because the beast made a very loud, scary voice that nearly scared the little ones from room 1. I was disgusted how beauty and the beast kissed every time, i did not like the parts with kissing in it. At the end was a very beautiful ending, they did a musical and bowed down to the audience which was us. I recommend this movie to only 10 years old and up. I had a very good time, i hope we go to the vodafone center to see other schools perform different types of shows.Bye: Mele Kautai
