Tarore and her book

    Tarore and her book

Tarore was a little girl who brought peace to Aotearoa and who wanted everyone to start loving instead of fighting.

There was a good student named Tarore (Tarore brought peace to the land) A missionary gave Tarore a book that had words of peace and a little kete to put   inside the book.

When Tarore turned 12 she was killed by warriors because the warriors thought there might be something shiney or something good to kill people with, but it wasn't, it was just a book of peace. Ngakuku overcome with sadness. Suddenly he remembered the word of peace so he did not seek revenge anymore.

In Rotorua, the person who had killed Tarore read the book with the message that said “love your enemies”. The warriors went to Ngakuku to ask for forgiveness.

The gospel of luke was spreading around north island. Other people gave up war and lived the christian way of peace. Tarores little book of peace came down to Otaki. The chief of the warriors Te Rauparaha heard the message of peace and built a church of Rangiatea.

Te Rauparaha’s son and nephew looked at the message in the book and took it to the south Island. The good news kept on spreading like the wind moving everyone round and round. Tangata whenua said that the missionaries brought peace and christionary to the county but it was the south Island who really gave it to each other. Everything happened because of Tarore’s little book that she wore close to her heart.
