A teacher with Mike

Plan
brown coat
Green jumper with white stripes
A sheet of paper
Aquamarine couch
Art material
Wearing glasses
Hard brown table

            A Teacher with Mike
I could see Mr Berg talking to Mike, who is wearing a green bright jumper with white stripes around him. They are in the art room sitting on a comfortable aquamarin couch. All the art materials were laying at the back, on shelves and I could see Mike’s art work that he did, he named it “The bright moon!!!”. Mr Berg is wearing glasses for him to help him see or read things. The sheet of paper that Mr Berg is holding, is Mike’s test  sheet that Mike failed. Mike is very bored and couldn’t stand that he has to do another test on history because he failed the other one.

“ Why do you have a frown on your face?!!”. Said Mr Berg angrily. Mike never replied to his question. Mr Berg is cross but, still talks to Mike, about the test he failed. I am standing outside the art room, and Mr Berg said to Mike “ Mike, if you don’t do this homework sheet you will….” Brrrrrrrrrrring, oh no I didn’t get to hear the rest because of the bell. I still stand in silence, when this is what Mr Berg said Fail. I wonder, why is Mike lacking behind, he never does that. Mike is still bored and leans on a brown hard table. I am worried about Mike because he didn’t do well in his test.

If you fail a test and you never studied hard, make sure you do because your parents and teachers will get mad and will be upset at you.

Two boys bulding a sandcastle

Two boys building a                       sandcastle
On a hot saturday afternoon, I walk along the warm sand and see two boys building a sandcastle. One boy is wearing black shorts and a light blue t-shirt, and the other boy is just wearing black shorts with no shirt on. I can see they are holding a bucket and a shovel colours blue and yellow. The wind blew very softly and the sand caught my eye. It felt like I am blind.

My eye is opening and I can see that the sandcastle has gone a little bit bigger. The two boys are happy that they had made there sandcastle until, someone come sprinting up and crash there sandcastle. They did not look very happy. But they never gave up and made another sandcastle. I can hear birds chirping and the waves waving. I can see that they had made five sandcastles. The two boys seem happy.

If you mess up something do not give up just keep on doing what you're doing.

The two Stupid, Ugly Giant

WALT write a narrative which involves a typical (stereotypical) character.

            The stupid, Ugly Giant
A long time ago in a small village named Ugine, there lived two brothers. Archie the oldest, is very much likely described as mean and dishonest, and Percy the youngest, is nice, gentle, honest and smart. Percy said “ I’m going to hunt some boars”. Archie did not care so he just sat down and began to read. Percy went out into the woods and saw two ugly giants playing and jumping up and down the trees. He was scared but, he kept on walking until “ Boo”. Percy was scared and started running of. “Archie, Archie!!!” percy shouted. “ What is it, I am trying to sleep” said Archie. Percy questioned “ Have you ever in your life seen two giants with only one eye!?”. “ You're only dreaming, go to sleep”. Yawned Archie.

“I AM HUNGRY. YOU COME HERE, I AM HUNGRY I WILL NOT EAT YOU I MEAN I WILL EAT YOU!!!!” Growled the Giant. “ Go eat me” said Percy. “ Okay” The Giant said politely. Than Percy said “
Hey look down there, its a flower”. “ A flower, so pretty” said the giant. Percy punched him and Percy tied him up. “ Haha, thats what you get for trying to eat me!”. Percy yelled

Boys Jumping of a Bridge

Boys Jumping of a Bridge
As I look up into the sky, I smell the smelly sea water, and hear the wind blowing gently upon my feet to my face. I smell the breeze outside. I look down and see two young boys playing around. One boy is sitting down while the other boy has already jumped in the air just like an airplane that has crashed and fallen off into the sea.

They were both wearing no t-shirt and different colour shorts. I am thinking, how can anyone possibly jump off a bridge that creepy. I am scared the young boy might bump into a big or small rock. I am shaking and see the other boy just sitting on the bridge maybe thinking, will I die or will I survive?. The cars are driving calmly and look out there windows and they have noticed some word about danger but, the young boys just did what they did. I am wondering, is his heart beating fast like a tiger or does he butterflies in his stomach, I am worry but I don’t think he is. The taller kid is still not going to jump off that bridge, all he is going to do is look at the water with his eyes open wide like an owl. What  will happen if he ends up in hospital with a broken bone, is he going to land properly with both feet to the bottom of the water. “Woohoo” screams one of the boys.

Do not let your child jump of a bridge, your house or even vehicles. Safety comes first before fun. And another thing Danger and pollution, there can be big or small rocks under the sea, and more and about pollution do not throw your rubbish in the water put your rubbish in the bin because sea animals can die because of our litter in the sea. Litter goes in the bin not in the sea. Keep safe children.

A boy and his Dad

A boy and his Dad
“You can do it son, just make sure you keep your balance right” a man shouts. I am at the dirt track and see that the grass has turn brown because of the hot steaming sun. I  see that it is a open space and thought “ It can be better if it is for a picnic space”. “ Brrrrrrr Mm”, I hear a mini bike.

I stand far behind the man and see that a little boy is practicing for his big game tomorrow. I can feel my heart beating fast as a racing car. It felt like he is going to fall down and break one of his body parts or bones. I can imagine myself racing down the track, lost my balance and “ Crash”. I can not think of it anymore so I just watch him go. His fathers eyes are wide open thinking that his son might lose the race tomorrow or he might lose his balance. I can see that the little boy feels relax and calm racing tomorrow. I am feeling scared that he might not make it, but will he?. The little boy kept on bouncing up into the air on the bumps it I feel goosebumps coming to me.

Insulation

Insulation

Why is there a need to insulate?
We need to insulate to keep warm and to reduce the amount of heat loss on a cold day. It can reduce by the heat transferring into any place.

What is the main importance of insulation?
Air quality, ventilation and
temperature are interdependent  must always be considered
together. For cooling
thermal comfort (whether active or
passive) is closely related to heating and ventilation

In the Chapel

WALT describe a moment in time.

S.C. we need to:

  • just describe the moment in the photo

                      No before or after
  • Explain Where, + Why you are there
  • Use the Present Tense
  • Use descriptive words to show what we see, hear, taste, smell, touch or feel.
Plan:
Where: At the Chapel
When: Friday 17th October 2014
Why: To celebrate C.T.K 60th jubilee
What: We had mass in the Chapel

           In the chapel

                          Bye: Mele
I am in the chapel and  mass  is starting. I can see a lady in front of the stage. Her name is Sister Elizabeth. She is talking about our old school. She is saying that she used to be a teacher in our Christ the King.. I am shocked. Sister Collin said “ Okay, now Sister Elizabeth would like to stay but she is going to the hospital. Thank you Sister Elizabeth for sharing your moments in Christ the King”. Sister Collin said. All the students are clapping. We have started mass and we did the sign of the cross. “IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT, AMEN.”

We sang a song to start off the mass. I can hear beautiful voices coming out from Christ the King school. Now people from our school are reading out the prayers of the faithful to pray for those who have worked so hard with Mary Mackillop and for the people that are poor. We sing more songs and I can hear more lovely voices. Father Peter says a little prayer. The prayer that Father Peter is saying almost makes tears come out like raindrops falling from the sky. “ Let's bow our heads and think about the things we have done wrong” says Father Peter. “ Lord hear us”. Is our response. Father Peter is consecrating the Eucharist and says softly “ He took the bread and said, eat this, all of you. This is my body which is given out to you”. He then says “ He took the chalice and said, take this all of you and drink from it. This is my blood which is given up to you”. When he finishes his prayer, we we start singing.. “When we eat this bread and drink this wine”. I know that we have to go up to receive Jesus’ body but it is only the people who have received their holy communion. I took the bread ate it and prayed for my family.

Mass is almost finished, and Sister collin explained everythinge are going to do next. “ Now, the seniors will go up stairs and the juniors will stay down stairs with the Sisters, but you will change in 30 minutes, everyone have fun”. In the chapel, I now know that I should follow the way of Mary Mackillop and Jesus.Screenshot 2014-11-06 at 08.18.31.png

Marae trip

           Marae trip
“ Haere mai,Haere mai enga manuhiri, Haere mai” Rose calls out in the beginning of the karanga. We enter the gate and the Tangata Whenua are smiling with great joy. We are told to take of our shoes so that we are showing respect to the Maori culture.

A Tangata Whenua welcome us and says a speech in Maori. “Haere mai, Haere mai, Haere mai”. We all sit down and listened to Bronson  (One of the students) do a small speech from behalf of the school. They sang a song in Maori to welcome us. We sang a song that was Mo Maria. I had thought they were going to sing the same song, but I guess I was wrong. We went in a line because we were going to do a Hongi which means a greeting in Maori. We press our forehead and nose together. Everyone had walked into the bathrooms and washed our hands because we were having our evening meal in the wharekai, our evening meal was biscuit with water mmm yum. The years 5,6,7 and 8 nibbled onto their biscuit and had already finish all their water. “ Stop, look, and listen” said Mrs Driver. We stopped what we were doing and listened carefully to what Mrs Driver had to say. “Now we are going to do the activities, year 5 and 6 boys and year 7 and 8 girls will do the poi dance and the year 5 girls and the year 6 girls will do the drawing of the Maori Ancestors”. I felt very happy to draw the Maori Ancestors. I never knew who to draw, can I draw a girl or boy. I chose a Maori leader, who is a… Girl. I wanted to do the poi dance, but I thought this was much better. It was time to go, the bus had already arrived. We had a speech on behalf before we left. Everyone went outside and put back on their shoes very quickly.

When we went back into the bus I had seen a dead cat right at the back, I was frightened. As I sat down tiredly inside the bus I thought, what a great day I had, the most fun I had was the drawing of the Maori Ancestors. I had alot of fun, if we had another trip I hope it would be a Marae trip.

Saint Catgherine of Alexandria

Saint Catherine of Alexandria!
                          From: Mele
Yassas, my name is Saint Catherine of Alexandria and I live in Egypt. I was a very rich child. Everyday I would find time to pray quietly to God. I was able to go to school and I studied very hard.  When I was 18 years old, I went to an Emperor who was persecuting the christians and told him that he has to stop attacking good people. The Emperor sent me to jail for insulting him. He said to me, I must die by being tortured on a spiked wheel. I noticed something when I touched the wheel, the wheel just fell apart. The Emperor ordered my head to be cut off. When my head was cut off, angels from heaven carried my bodie to Mount sinai, where later on a church and a convent was built in my honor. My Feast day is November 25th, I was born 287 AD and died 305 AD.

Different types of Volcanoes
What is the difference of dormant from extinct?
  1. dormant-A dormant volcano is an active volcano that is not erupting, but supposed to erupt again.
  2. Extinct-An extinct volcano has not had an eruption for at least 10,000 years and is not expected to erupt again in a comparable time scale of the future.

Information about Volcanoes

             Volcanoes!

What are Volcanoes?
A volcano is a mountain that opens  to a pool of molten rock. Gases and rock come out through the opening and spills all over. Eruptions can cause lateral blasts, lava flows, hot ash flows, mudslides, avalanches etc. Volcano eruptions can down knock down the entire forest. An erupting volcano can trigger tsunamis, flash floods, earthquakes etc.

How are volcanoes formed?
Volcanoes are formed because magma is  within the Earth's upper surface. At the surface, it can erupt to form lava flows and ash flows lickrish. Over time as the volcano continues to erupt, it will get bigger and bigger.

Types of volcanoes
Scientists have volcanoes to three main categories: active, dormant, and extinct. An active volcano is one which has  erupted and there is a possible way that it may erupt soon. A dormant volcano is one which has not erupted in a long time but it is a possibility it can erupt in the future. An extinct volcano is one which has erupted thousands of years ago and there’s no possibility of eruption ever again.
